Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports National Guard Chevrolet SS) won the Goody's Headache Relief Shot 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday. It was Earnhardt Jr.'s first win at Martinsville and his fourth win of the season. Jeff Gordon (No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Drive To End Hunger Chevrolet SS) finished second and Ryan Newman (No. 31 Richard Childress Racing Quicken Loans Chevrolet SS) was third. Gordon now leads the standings in the Eliminator 8 phase of the Chase, which continues next week at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. See more coverage at www.nascar.com.

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. celebrates in Victory Lane at Martinsville with his girlfriend, Amy Reimann, and team owner Rick Hendrick. The race weekend marked the tenth anniversary of the tragic plane crash involving a Hendrick Motorsports plane that crashed in the fog on the way to Martinsville. The crash killed ten people including Rick Hendrick's son, brother and other key members of the organization.
