Ken Block (No. 43 Hoonigan Racing Division Ford Fiesta ST) took a thrilling victory in Sunday’s inaugural Red Bull Global Rallycross MCAS New River, the fourth race of the 2015 Red Bull GRC season. Block, who also won the season opener in Fort Lauderdale, held off the rest of the 10-car field for the victory. Patrik Sandell (No. 18 Bryan Herta Rallysport Ford Fiesta ST) finished second and Nelson Piquet Jr. (No. 07 SH Racing Rallycross Ford Fiesta ST) was third, giving Ford a 1-2-3 podium sweep. “I’m very lucky to have two out of four wins,” Block said. “Today was crazy up and down, so I’m really lucky to be here on top. I’d like to say thanks to everyone who came out—it was great to see everybody and sign autographs last night, and it’s great interacting with the military.” The milestone event, which not only marked the first time that a racing series has ever competed on an active military base, saw the longest course in Red Bull GRC history - something that was desperately needed - at .993 miles. The next Red Bull Global Rallycross event will take place at Belle Isle in Detroit on July 25-26. The event will be shown live on Saturday, July 25 at 2PM ET and Sunday, July 26 at 4:30PM ET, with both telecasts taking place on NBC.

Sweden’s Mattias Ekstrom (No. 10 EKSRX Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro) became the fifth different winner in this year’s FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy at the Volkswagen World RX of Sweden. Timmy Hansen (No. 21 Peugeot Hansen Peugeot 208 WRX) was declared the initial winner but his victory was later revoked after a stewards’ inquiry confirmed the Swede was penalized for pushing in the final. Hansen was then demoted to second while Ford Olsbergs MSE driver Andreas Bakkerud (No. 13 Ford Olsbergs MSE Ford Fiesta ST Supercar) finished third. Next up is the World RX of Canada (August 7-8).

Dale Earnhardt Jr (No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Nationwide Stars And Stripes Chevrolet SS) won the Coke Zero 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race early Monday morning (the checkered flag waved at 2:42 a.m.) at Daytona International Speedway. Jimmie Johnson (No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Lowe's Patriotic Chevrolet SS) finished second and Denny Hamlin (No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing FedEx Ground Toyota Camry) finished third.
