Helio Castroneves (No. 3 Team Penske Hitachi Chevrolet/Dallara) won the
Dual 2 of the Chevrolet Indy Dual in Detroit presented by Quicken Loans by 1.6836 seconds over teammate Will Power (No. 12 team Penske Verizong Chevrolet/Dallara) on Sunday. It was the 29th Indy car victory for Castroneves who tied Rick Mears for 11th on the all-time win list. "Indy 500. It just clicked something. It just made us hungry and here I am in Victory Circle where I won my first race. It's great energy again. I wanted it so bad," said Castroneves, who a week earlier came just short of joining Mears, A.J. Foyt and Al Unser as the only four-time winners of the Indianapolis 500. "More than anything, I want this championship." Castroneves - the fifth different winner in seven races this season - moved to second in the standings, 19 points behind Power.

Helio Castroneves is congratulated by team owner Roger Penske after the race. Penske is the prime mover - along with Mark Reuss at GM - behind the event and if it weren't for his tireless efforts there would be no IndyCar race in the Motor City, it's as simple as that.

Will Power (No. 12 Team Penske Verizon Chevrolet/Dallara) finished second to Castroneves on Sunday, but won the first race of the doubleheader on Saturday, making it a huge weekend for Roger Penske, Chevrolet and the entire Team Penske organization. "Because of Roger, I definitely wasn't going to race him (Castroneves) hard. Unless he made a mistake, I wasn't going to go for a move unless I was close. A great day for Chevy, Roger at his home track and Chevy's backyard. Just fantastic."

Ricky and Jordan Taylor (No. 10 Konica Minolta Corvette DP) won the Prototype (P) class and overall victory Saturday in the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic presented by Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers, on Belle Isle. Ricky Taylor finished just 0.207 seconds ahead of Richard Westbrook (No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Racing Corvette DP). Westbrook co-drove with Michael Valiante. Olivier Pla finished third in the No. 42 OAK Racing Morgan/Nissan, after taking over from co-driver Gustavo Yacaman. It was a third-consecutive Detroit victory for Jordan Taylor, following victories in 2012 and ’13 in the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series. Alessandro Balzan (No. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia, co-driven by Jeff Westphal) held off late-race charges from Spencer Pumpelly (No. 45 Flying Lizard Motorsports Audi R8 LMS) and Mario Farnbacher (No. 23 Heart of Racing Team Seattle/Alex Job Racing Porsche 911 GT America) to win the GT Daytona class (GTD) in Saturday’s Chevrolet Sports Car Classic on Belle Isle in Detroit. It was the second career North American sports car racing victory for Balzan – and the first in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship – and the first career victory for Westphal. Pumpelly attempted to pass Balzan for the lead with less than five minutes remaining but ran wide and quickly lost the position to Farnbacher and Christopher Haase (No. 48 Paul Miller Racing Audi R8 LMS ). Farnbacher and Haase set out after Balzan, but fell just short. Farnbacher (with co-driver Ian James) finished 0.297 seconds behind Balzan, while Haase and co-driver Bryce Miller finished third.

For many, the best racing of the weekend at Belle Isle was put on by Robby Gordon's Stadium SUPER Truck series. E.J. Viso (Momo/Gridstar) dominated the weekend, winning all three Menards Formula Off-Road Presented by TRAXXAS races. “I am obviously starting to feel more comfortable with the truck,” Viso said. “It was a great weekend and a great track. This new series is going to be the next thing, it’s really catching on with the fans, sponsors and drivers. The trucks are very fun to drive and I had a blast. This is only my second opportunity in the trucks, and I hope there are many others. Now I am looking forward to X Games next weekend in Austin (Texas) which I am sure is going to be a different animal but I am ready for that challenge.” Four metal ramps were positioned throughout the course, with the trucks jumping as much as 15 feet in the air and more than 100 feet down the course. The SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Presented by TRAXXAS series now moves to Austin, Texas, and the ESPN X Games, marking the first time in series history that it will be featured in a live network television broadcast. The final race at X Games Austin will air Sunday, June 8 on ABC at 12:30 p.m. A replay of the Menards TRAXXAS races from Detroit will be shown on NBCSN June 20 at 10:30 p.m. PDT (1:30 a.m. June 21 EDT). The Menards at the Brickyard TRAXXAS races from Indianapolis will be shown on NBCSN June 13 at 9 p.m. (PDT - midnight EST).

Brad Keselowski (No. 2 Team Penske Miller Lite Ford Fusion) finished second, and Matt Kenseth (No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Dollar General Toyota Camry) came in third. Watch a NASCAR video here.

The unique achievements of John Surtees OBE (pictured at the 1961 British Grand Prix) will be celebrated at the Silverstone Classic on July 25-27. It was exactly 50 years ago in 1964 that Surtees added the Formula One World Championship to his four 500cc motorcycle titles to become the first – and only – man to win World Championships on both two and four wheels. Marking that very special anniversary, Surtees will be guest of honour at this year’s BRDC Silverstone Classic Dinner. “It promises to be a very special evening,” said Derek Warwick, President of the British Racing Drivers’ Club. “We are incredibly proud and privileged to be honoring John – a true racing legend whose remarkable accomplishments will never ever be equaled."
