The Porsche 911 GT2 RS has set a new production car lap record at Road America - "America's National Park of Speed " - in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, completing the 4.048-mile road course with its 14 turns and multiple elevation changes in just 2:15.17 minutes. 24 Hours of Daytona and Le Mans class winner David Donohue was behind the wheel of the 911 GT2 RS and needed only two laps to set the mark in favorable weather conditions. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS also recorded an impressive lap time of 2:18.57 minutes at the same track after only a few laps. Both cars were equipped with road-legal and Porsche-approved Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R N0 tires. Racelogic was on-site to record and validate the lap time, vehicle telemetry, and video utilizing the VBOX Video HD2 system. Watch a Porsche video from Road America here.

Toyota is paying tribute to one of the great driving roads in the world - the Hakone Turnpike - with the 86 Hakone Edition. The famous stretch of road is two hours southwest of Tokyo and is considered an iconic destination for driving enthusiasts. The 86 Hakone Edition is based on the 86 GT and will feature Hakone green paint with 17” twisted spoke bronze wheels and a black spoiler. The 86 Hakone Edition offers all the 86 standard exterior features as well, including LED projector-beam headlights, color-keyed power mirrors, chrome-tipped dual exhaust, front fender-mounted vortex generators and LED fog lamps.
The interior features several unique elements, including tan and black Alcantara seats and a black sliding armrest with tan trim and black stitching. A tan Toyota 86 logo is embroidered on the passenger-side dashboard, while the steering wheel, parking brake cover and shift boot all get tan stitching. The door trim, knee pad and meter visor will get black stitching. It will also feature a unique premium trunk carpet with an embossed 86 logo. Everyone who purchases an 86 Hakone Edition will receive a pair of tan key gloves and folio cover with a debossed 86 logo and black stitching (OMG, really??? Wow!). Other stuff? A steering wheel with integrated audio and Multi-Information Display controls, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats, anti-theft system and cruise control. And a Smart Key System on driver and passenger doors with Push Button Start, remote keyless entry system with lock, two-stage unlock, panic and trunk release.
The 86 Hakone Edition will be powered by the 2.0-liter horizontally opposed aluminum boxer four-cylinder engine, fed by Toyota’s D-4S Dual Injection System, delivering 205HP and 156 lb.-ft. Buyers will have a choice of a six-speed manual or automatic. (The numbers with the automatic: 200HP and 151 lb.-ft. of torque). The 86 Hakone Edition will be available in the fall of 2019 as a 2020 model.
