Lost in the Jimmie Johnson championship shuffle, Carl Edwards (No. 99 Roush Fenway Racing Aflac Ford) captured his 18th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win with Sunday’s victory in the Ford 400. The win was the 120th all-time NSCS win for Roush Fenway Racing and the 599th all-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win for Ford Racing. NASCAR observers expect Edwards to be very tough in 2011.

Chevrolet won the Manufacturers’ WTCC title in Macau over the weekend, while Chevrolet driver Yvan Muller was officially declared Drivers’ WTCC Champion. The victory, the first for Chevrolet and GM in FIA-sanctioned world championship touring car racing, also was quite a testament to the new Chevrolet Cruze. Chevrolet finished on the podium in 21 of the 22 races this year.
